About our Director
Ancuța (Anna) Hansen is the Director & Principal Consultant of Perseveras Consulting. With over 20 years of international experience in governance, politics, civil society, and the private sector, Anna has provided strategic support to partners and beneficiaries across five continents. Her area of expertise spans political strategy, organizational development, civic engagement, and public policy.
Before founding Perseveras, Anna held senior leadership roles at Democracy International, the International Republican Institute, and the National Democratic Institute. She advised political and civic actors in fragile and post-conflict contexts throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Central America, and the Pacific, and led multi-million international development programs and high-level representation to governments and international partners.
Anna’s career began in Romania, where she served as corporate communication director, political spokesperson, elected county councilor, and senior advisor to national leaders during a time of democratic transformation. She also brings a deep understanding of European Union institutions, having worked with the European Parliament, and earned a professional qualification in Political Management from the Council of Europe an M.A. in International and European Law. Her approach combines deep technical knowledge with strategic sensitivity, empowering clients to navigate complexity, shape reform, and advance meaningful change.
